COVID UPDATE:

Newton Community Education will be joining the Newton Public Schools, of which we are a part, in requiring COVID-19 vaccines for certain groups. This policy is aimed at safeguarding the health and wellbeing of our community.

Effective October 18, 2021, NCE will be requiring full vaccination against COVID-19 to participate in in-person classes for all instructors and Adult class students. Instructors of Kids classes will be required to get vaccinated, while students in Kids classes or students/instructors of online classes will not be subject to vaccine requirements. For two-dose COVID-19 vaccines, the first dose must be received no later than October 18, 2021.

If you are already enrolled in an NCE class, you will be receiving a personalized survey to verify your vaccine status. The survey must be completed no later than October 18, 2021. Personal information in the survey will be treated confidentially and will not be kept on file. If this survey is not completed or vaccination requirements are not met by October 18, 2021, students will be unenrolled from class and issued a prorated refund, if applicable.

Everyone who enrolls in our Adult in-person class will receive a vaccine verification email as an automatic follow-up to registration. Verification of vaccine status will be required in order to complete registration for a class.

This new policy will make our classes a safer environment for all and protect the most vulnerable members of our community. We know that many of you have been asking for a vaccine mandate so that you may have greater peace of mind when attending class.

Please note that, pursuant to the City of Newton’s indoor mask mandate and the policies of Newton Public School, Newton Community Education requires face coverings indoors for all students and instructors regardless of vaccination status.
