Order your books early by calling New England Mobile Book Fair (617) 527-5817 or Newtonville Books (617-244-6619). Books may not be in stock at these book- stores, but can be ordered to arrive in three to seven days. You may also order them online. Please have your book on hand for your first class meeting.
These are available from your instructor upon successful completion of a course. Please request in advance.
Adult courses are open to students 16 years of age and older. Residents of other communities are welcome. There is a non- refundable $6 registration fee per student each semester. NCE reserves the right to cancel classes that are under-enrolled, to change times and locations when necessary, and to substitute instructors if needed.
Students seeking high school credits must get written authorization from a school authority and present it to our office prior to the start of their course(s).
If you’re a “senior” (age 65+), a veteran, or an employee of the city of Newton, you’re eligible for a 15% discount off the tuition of many of our classes, but only if you let us know at the time of registration. Please call to register. The discount does not apply to ELL, one session, off campus, and other select courses, and cannot be combined with any other discounts, such as already
reduced “couples” rates. Discounts do not apply to materials or food fees, including those that are built into our tuition.

Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. You are officially enrolled once we receive your completed registration form and payment, as long as there is still space available. Please register early so you won’t miss out!
We value and encourage your input at any time. Evaluations are distributed at the end of the class. You may also use the online evaluation form found on our website.

Unless stated, these are not included in the tuition. All food fees and sales of supplies are final. No discounts apply.
You may purchase a gift certificate for any amount which may be used for any course we offer.

We don’t send reminders, but we’ll contact you if there are any changes.
Our main office is at Newton North HS, Room 101, 457 Walnut St., Newtonville; it is open from 8:30am to 6pm with coverage until 8pm on evenings when classes are in session. Our satellite office at Newton South, 140 Brandeis Rd., Newton Center, is open when classes are taking place during the day and in the evening.
Newton South HS (140 Brandeis Rd, Newton Center) and Newton North HS (457 Walnut St, Newtonville) have ample parking in lots adjacent to the school buildings. Additional parking is available on neighborhood streets; please pay attention to all official street signs, as parking laws are enforced.

If Newton public schools are canceled due to inclement weather, our classes are canceled at all locations.
Full refunds are given if a class is canceled due to low enrollment. You must withdraw at least one week before your course’s starting date to receive either a tuition refund minus a $10 processing fee or a course voucher minus a $5 processing fee. The $6 registration fee is non-refundable unless we cancel a class. Note: Refunds for checks and cash take 4-6 weeks; for credit cards, allow one week. We regret that no other refunds or vouchers will be given.
For kids summer classes, if you change your mind before May 29, you can have a refund minus a $25 processing fee. After May 29, no refunds or credits will be given. A transfer may be possible, space permitting. There is a $50 fee for all transfers.
