A Historic Moment

NCE wants to acknowledge this historic moment. In an election which saw record voter turnout, Kamala Harris makes history as the first woman, the first black American, and the first person of South-Asian heritage to become Vice President. In our community alone, 75% of Newton residents voted by-mail, early in-person, and on election day in order to make their voices heard. This level of civic engagement makes us very proud to be Newtonians and Americans.
In Ms. Harris’s recent speech, she urged Americans to “dream with ambition, lead with conviction and see yourselves in a way that others may not simply because they’ve never seen it before.” and President-Elect Joe Biden promised to “be a president who seeks not to divide but unify.” These words struck a chord with us at NCE because we strive to be a community that helps people fulfill their dreams and engage with each other no matter our beliefs and values.
In the months leading up to the election, our nation engaged in many important conversations. NCE wants to keep those conversation going as we seek to build a better, stronger community together. Keep an eye out for some new offerings from us as we head into winter. Thank you for being a member of the NCE community.
