Summer Camp 2023: CIT Program
The CIT Program at Newton Community Education gives students a feel for what it’s like to be a camp counselor while still taking part in everything that makes camp so much fun. In their role as a CIT, they’ll have the opportunity to develop the skills and confidence that will help them become effective leaders and positive role models. Under the guidance of our CIT Program Coordinator, they will receive hands-on training as they interact each day with instructors, counselors, and campers in grades K-5. CITs will join morning and afternoon enrichment camps based on their own areas of interest. They’ll engage in team-building activities with their own peers, and we’ll offer occasional workshops on classroom management, childcare and behavior, and life skills. CITs will also have the opportunity to get CPR certified! Learn all about the behind-the-scenes magic it takes to operate a camp while discovering new skills and building confidence. Each week will be new and exciting, so sign up for multiple sessions!
