We're open Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5pm, longer when evening classes are in session.
Newton North Room 101, 457 Walnut Street, Newtonville 02460 617-559-6999. Evening hours: until 8pm when classes are in session at Newton North.
Newton South Room 9208, 140 Brandeis R0ad, Newton Centre 02459 617-559-6508. Evening hours: until 8pm when evening classes are in session at Newton South.

Class locations
Most of our adult classes are held at Newton South High School (floor plan here) and at Newton North High School (floor plan here). Our kids and teens classes are held at various Newton elementary and middle schools, and other locations. Remember to check the location of your course in the catalog.
- Newton South High School is located at 140 Brandeis Rd., Newton Center
- Newton North High School is located at 457 Walnut Street, Newtonville
At both schools a circular driveway allows for convenient student drop-off or pick-up. NCE students and instructors are welcome to park in the schools' parking lots. For Newton North, the main parking lot is along Walnut Street, but that lot is also accessible from Elm Road off Lowell Avenue.
DIRECTIONS TO NEWTON SOUTH HIGH SCHOOL
From the North via Centre Street From the intersection of Centre St. and Beacon St. in Newton Centre, head south on Centre St., immediately fork left onto Cypress St., and almost immediately right onto Parker St. After 0.8 mile, you will cross Route 9 (Boylston St.), then after 0.1 mile, take the first LEFT turn onto Hagen Rd. Immediately, fork right onto Great Meadow Rd. (there's a sign after this fork for the high school). Great Meadow Rd. dead-ends onto Brandeis Rd.; turn left and you will reach the school's many parking lots and the school building on the right. When leaving, drive back down Brandeis Rd., past Great Meadow Rd. and turn right where the sign says "To Parker Street."
From the West via Route 9 Take the "Newton Centre/West Roxbury" exit and turn right. Then follow the directions above from Route 9 and Parker St.
From the East via Route 9 Take the "Newton Centre/West Roxbury" exit and turn left. Then follow the directions above from Route 9 and Parker St.
From the South From Dedham St., turn right onto Parker St., and after 0.5 mile, turn right onto Hagen Rd., then follow the directions above to the high school.
Mass Transit The nearest T stop is Newton Highlands, about 1.5 miles from the school. The closest bus line is #52, which runs only until about 7 p.m. (For complete bus and subway schedules go to www.mbta.com.)
DIRECTIONS TO NEWTON NORTH HIGH SCHOOL
From Route 128 (North or South)
* Take Exit 21 (Route 16 East.) * Go past Newton Wellesley Hospital which is on the right. * Keep going straight for 1 mile to Commonwealth Avenue (route 30) and turn right. * Continue 2 miles to the 4th traffic light and turn left on to Walnut St. * Proceed 1/2 mile and you will see the school on your left.
Mass Pike heading East
* Take exit 17 (Newton-Watertown) and immediately get into the left lane and cross back over the Mass Pike by taking your first left (a bridge,) which will gradually break away seperated by a median with green bushes. * At the end of the bridge over the Pike, take a dull left onto Washington Street. * Continue on Washington Street and proceed past Clay Chevrolet (parallel to Mass Pike) for 1.25 miles and turn left onto Walnut St. * After the next traffic light you will see the building on your right.
From Mass Pike Heading West
*Take exit 17 (Newton-Watertown) and continue straight through lights onto Washington Street (Route 16.) * Proceed past Clay Chevrolet (parallel to Mass Pike) for 1.25 miles and turn left onto Walnut St. * After the next traffic light you will see the building on your right.
Mass Transit: Unfortunately, mass transit is not convenient for the school. The nearest T stop is the commuter rail Newtonville stop, about a 15-minute walk from the school. The closest bus lines are #59 and #554, which do not run after around 7 p.m. (Please go to www.mbta.com for complete bus and subway schedules.)
